The bothy is one of a number of buildings which once formed a farm at the head of the River Affric. It is located along an important former drove road linking the west coast to the sheep markets of the east. Athnamulloch was also used as a staging post, where grass, water and rest was available for the drove herds. http://ranald.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=85919347 85919347 Buntait Buntait Farm, Glen Urquhart. http://ranald.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=66268586 66268586 Fasnakyle Fasnakyle, Strath Glass. http://ranald.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=66268587 66268587 Cannich Cannich, Strath Glass. http://ranald.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=136950955 136950955 Ām druideadh a' gheata.
