Born and raised in the south of Scotland, Ranald Dods is keen to reflect his love of landscapes through photography.
Ranald started taking
photographs on a school trip to Italy. The early days with a Kodak
Instamatic were followed by happy times using his father's Voigtlander,
then his own Ricoh SLR and now Pentax DSLRs.
His photographs try to connect the viewer to the place, even if they have never been there. In this, he tries to follow the idea put forward by Ansel Adams that there are always two people in every picture. The photographer and the viewer.
